Japan 15/01/11 - 16/01/11 - Shibuya, Yoyagi Koen, Harajuku 渋谷と原宿
I'm so behind on my blogging! Anyway, I'm going to try to blog about my last few days in Tokyo by tonight. I'm heading off to the Kansai area tomorrow and will be staying in Osaka. I'll also be visiting cities like Kyoto and Hiroshima during the time when I'm over at the Kansai area for 2 weeks. After being in Tokyo for two weeks I've experienced the busy life and now I'll be able to experience the more quiet life of Japan.Anyway, onto the post about my last few days. The day after Disney Land I just wanted to be lazy for the day. We spent the day doing our laundry. For the whole day we didn't do much, but at night we headed down to the Asakusa Smile Bar. My friend Sena Kojima was performing that night there and since it was just about a 2 minute walk from where we are staying, we headed down after dinner. Sena performed great as always ~ I recorded some videos but they still need to be edited. I have a feeling that I won't be editing the videos until I come back to Perth though...
It was a great way to end the day. We had to leave earlier since we had to wake up early to meet up with Chiho and Eigo the next day. The next day we went to Shibuya to meet Eigo and Chiho, missed them both so much! It was their first time in Shibuya so we went to Shibuya 109 first to have a look around. I really liked the clothes there but they were quite pricey.
Girls went to shop while guys sat down waiting haha
Liz Lisa! I LOVE this brand now! I'm going to buy one of their coats before I leave Japan~ They are really good quality and the price isn't too bad either. I heard that they now have a shop in Perth in Carillion City that sell Liz Lisa stuff but they jacked up the price a whole lot =__= so I'm going to try buy some stuff here in Japan while it's cheaper.
Shibuya crossing always has lots of people
This is Shibuya 109 2 which is also called "Men's Shibuya 109"
But when you walk inside... you see
Chi-chan and everyone else on the escalators
We then went to Saizeria(サイゼリヤ) which sells pasta and other dishes for good prices.
The food was pretty good and cheap as well.
After lunch we decided to go to Yoyogi Koen (Yoyogi Park) and to Harajuku. We walked from Shibuya to Yoyogi Koen which is kind of close by and passed by streets of Harajuku
The streets of Harajuku are always busy
We then entered Yoyogi Koen, it was quite crowded that day
me with Chiho and Eric with Eigo
Souvenirs
I think this is sake?
We then started to walk towards the temple area and started seeing rows of ice sculptures. I think they were for a competition or something, but there were about 50 of them, I managed to take photos of all of them but here are just a few of them
Someone's sculpture fell down and broke :(
We arrived to the entrance of the temple but we had to wash our hands before entering. The water was freezing :(
It was so crowded inside the temple area
We went to get our fortune for 100yen. I couldn't really read mine, too much kanji :(
My fortune
Chiho and Eigo reading their fortunes
After we were standing around for a while, we ran into a Japanese traditional wedding
You can write your wish on one of these
We went out of the park and saw these people holding "Free hugs" signs
We then headed to Harajuku to walk around. We first tried the crepes. I had the Blueberry Cheescake one
We walked around the streets a bit more but it was really cold that day so we decided to go to Omote Sandos to stand for a bit.
It was just freezing that day and JR trains also stopped because of snow problems I think. We ended up leaving early because it was just too cold to stay out that night.
