2011 Japan Earthquake

Hey everyone,

I'm sure that most of you have heard about the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan. For those who have been reading my blog, I was just over in Japan about 3 weeks ago so I am really lucky that I'm back safe in Australia. I first heard about the news when people were posting it on twitter, so straight away I started streaming the news online live from Japan. At first I thought it was all okay, since I heard that the earthquake hit around Tokyo and buildings there were designed to be able to stand up in earthquakes. It wasn't until the tsunami hit Sendai, that's where the damage was so great that I couldn't believe it. Straight away I messaged all my friends over in Japan, hoping that they were all safe. Luckily all of them replied telling me that they're safe.

For now, I just hope that everyone stays strong there and hope that everyone does their best to help Japan out. Tomorrow the Japanese club at my university which I am with is running a fundraiser BBQ so lets hope it goes well!

haha, I just read all your blog. I 'm really shock what happen to Japan. Actually, I planned to visit to Japan soon but now I can't. You are so lucky enough to be back to Perth. How is it going on with your friends in Japan? Are they fine?

I'm really shocked about what happened too... and to think that if I didn't leave Japan 3 weeks ago I would've been caught in the earthquake also. All my friends in Japan are safe, I managed to contact them all. Luckily none of them live north/east of Tokyo, it's so sad to see what happened to those places.
