09/02/11 - A Day in Shizuoka Gakuen
Hi everyone!I know it's been so long since the last time I did a Japan post, I'm really sorry! This post is going to be a really short post because nothing much happened on this particular day, but I promise the next few posts will be more interesting!
On this particular day we didn't have any excursions planned so we spent the whole day at school.
An empty classroom in the early morning.
As usual they had their morning test, and they had two classes. They prepared a special calligraphy class for us however. I remembered I did do a bit of calligraphy when I went on an excursion in primary school, but that was many years ago haha.
They gave to us this sheet explaining what calligraphy is
They let us practice on paper first before actually writing it on the calligraphy paper.
Mine.. haha my calligraphy sucks, I know :P
After the calligraphy class we had lunch. Once again my Okaa-san made me a bento! So cute!
The rest of the day was just taking classes like a normal student. To be honest this was probably one of my most painful day in Shizuoka because I had to go to all the classes haha. It was great going to school to experience it, but not understanding what is going on in class and having to sit in it for a day was painful. However overall it was great and I did enjoy it.
Afterschool Chiho took me out to see Mount Fuji
That day I went on a huge shopping spree in Shizuoka haha. I went to Shibuya 109 Dreams (Also known as Shizuoka 109), went to other department stores to buy lots of clothes and makeup! I didn't take any photos while shopping since my hands were full of shopping bags! haha
Then we decided to go get some starbucks, I got an iced coffee
View from starbucks
After that Chiho had to go to her tutor's house for a lesson. Her teacher is Japanese but has lived in Canada for a while and is a professional translator. She was really nice and made us pasta for dinner
Dinner!
While she was giving Chiho a lesson, I sat down with her pets, and she gave me one of her books she translated (into Japanese) to read. It was hard for me to read it but hopefully one day I'll be able to!
That's it for the post today, sorry it is really short and quite boring! The next few posts will have more things happening in them so they will have more photos!
