23/07/12 - 24/07/12 Summer time in Japan! 初めて夏に日本に行きました!
Hey everyone! It's been a while! Sorry for not blogging recently, I just got back to Australia a few days ago and things have been quite busy. Uni has started again *sigh* but I will try to keep on making as many videos and blog posts as possible! I have very exciting news coming up very soon, I'll be making a quick video about it later ^^ I'm in the middle of editing a few videos too so hope you guys look forward to them!
Today I'm going to blog about my first day on my second trip this year to Japan. Don't worry, I'll still be writing about my first trip! I realized now it's going to get a bit more confusing since I want to post about both trips asap! haha. Though I guess I'll take a longer time to post about my first trip because I took a lot of photos and want the posts to be more detailed. This time when I went to Japan, I went alone so I didn't take many photos unfortunately :( I got a bit lonely so wasnt really in the mood for photos :(
The reason why I went to Japan again in such a short time was because Liz Lisa staff wanted to meet me and to talk to me about a few things! This is my first time to go to Japan in the summer. I have to say, I much prefer winter! haha. Summer in Japan is really hot and humid, I didn't really want to go out because of that.
Anyway, I left Australia last Monday (23rd July) so I could get to Japan on Tuesday morning.
Perth airport quiet as usual..
Played Pokemon on the plane
I had 4 hours in Singapore airport till my next flight, so I walked around for a bit and got a bit of food.
Decided to get some Indian food
On board my flight to Japan~!
There's Japan!
I flew to Osaka first because I really wanted to see Matsui Mama and Papa again. If you guys don't know who they are, here is a blog post about them.
Left Kansai International Airport and took the train to meet up with Matsui Mama and Papa.
First time to see so much greenery in Japan!
Once I got out of the train.. I realized just how HOT it was in Japan in summer! It was only about 32 degrees that day, which usually is good for summer in Australia. Except in Japan, it's really HUMID! I'm not used to humid weather so it was really painful for me T_T
Anyway, met Matsui Mama and Papa and they gave me some watermelon! Many people eat watermelon with salt in Japan in summer!
Resting in the room
Matsui papa made me some lunch!
Cold Ramen with umeboshi (Japanese plum) and Rice!
I LOVE umeboshi, I know a lot of foreign people don't like it, but I love it! Especially in onigiri (riceballs). It was my first time having cold ramen and it was really nice! 全部美味しかった!
After lunch, I headed off to go to Tennoji to meet my friend.
When I first came back and saw this street, immediate I thought to myself "懐かしい!!" (nostalgic). Never thought that I would be able to go back to Japan so soon to see this street again.
I got to Tennoji and met up with my friend. First stop, I went to MIO in Tennoji. I needed some clothes cos I didn't pack any clothes with me. When I go to Japan, I usually never pack anything with me since I know I will shop anyway to save on luggage space :P
Of course, Liz Lisa is first, I bought a few items from there!
if you guys haven't seen yet, I did a tour of the MIO shopping mall, includes a Liz Lisa tour:
Met up with my friend Aimi who used to study in Australia! We decided to go have a drink in Starbucks
Had one of the summer drinks.. forgot what it's called but it wasn't very nice so definitely not getting that again lol.
Summer in Japan means Yukatas everywhere! (Summer kimono).
After a lot of shopping, I went and took Purikura!
I wasn't able to hang out long since I promised Matsui Mama and Papa I'd be back to have dinner with them, so I left a bit early and decided to make a quick stop in Umeda to go to a few shops.
Waiting at Tennoji Station.
At HEP5, another shopping mall but in Umeda. Similar to MIO and Shibuya109
Super cute girls in Yukatas!
For dinner, Matsui Mama and papa made Tonkatsu!
Then we sat around to talk and I gave them presents I bought from Australia!
Matsui Mama likes making jewelry as a hobby, she made me a few necklaces!
本当にありがごう!大事にしています!
That's all for the post today ^_^ I'll try update more often this week but things are starting to get a bit more busy for me :( But I'll do my best! Also a new video will be out in a few days time ^__^ I missed you guys!

can't wait to read your next post :D
ReplyFun! Kim... summer where i live is humid and hot too. also, i've never been to a quiet airport, both within and outside of the US. Also, I ordered a small haul from Liz Lisa during the guerrilla sale; the prices looked so good. I'm pretty fond of plum pasta. It's cool how you get to buy your clothes on the trip (can't wait to see what you got). It's also pretty cool they invited you into their home and served food. Even though you had no travel buddies, you still got to meet up with others. They are such friendly people. I start college again at the end of the month. Looking forward to learning about Liz Lisa, and more of your first trip to Japan. :)
