24/08/12 - Day 1 in San Francisco
Hey guys! I'm back in Australia now from the J-pop Summit Festival in San Francisco! It was a great experience and I'm glad I was able to take part in it.I've been soooo busy since I got back to Australia. I'm actually meant to be doing an assignment now due on Monday lol, but I just felt like I haven't blogged for a long time so I thought I'd take the time now before I start study. Next week might be a bit busy for me too *sigh*. It's my birthday next week and I'm not really looking forward to it haha, damn I'm turning 22, feel like my age is getting to me haha.
Anyway, I think I'm going to try blog a lot about my trip to San Francisco to get them all out of the way so I can continue blogging about Japan haha. There aren't too many posts, but I have a lot of photos of the Liz Lisa cosmetic range also, so I will make a post of that later. I also vlogged and did a tour of the Liz Lisa pop-up store before it opened, so I will try edit that asap!
So before my trip, I didn't sleep at all the night before because I had to go to the airport around 4am to fly to Sydney. I arrived in Sydney in the morning and had about 3 hours in the airport before my flight to San Francisco. Decided to walk around and have lunch. Why is food SO expensive in Sydney Airport?!?
I spent $30 on this ramen <_<
I thought the food prices where I live was bad, but Sydney is so much more expensive T_T
Boarded my flight to San Francisco!
About 3-4 hours before touch down
Landed in San Francisco~ Took the train to go meet up with the Liz Lisa staff. I was so tired because I only slept around 2 hours on the flight (flight was around 14 hours). I had a window seat but it was one of the ones that had a huge gap between the window and the seat so I couldn't sleep T_T On flights I always like the window seat so I can lean on it and sleep T_T
We went to check into our hotel, then went for a walk to JapanTown in San Francisco.
I like how the streets look really historical!
Stood at the front of the City Hall being all touristy haha.
We had this exact same moving flower at the front of our university a few months ago.
We then kept walking to JapanTown to set up the Liz Lisa Pop-up store for the weekend.
I thought that the JapanTown is quite amazing! They have a Daiso (100 yen store) and also Japanese restaurants/supermarkets! Wish we had this where I live!
Finally arrived at the New People store to set up the Liz Lisa Pop-up Shop!
It's such a nice place inside!
Had a Matcha latte because I was still so tired T_T
Boxes of Liz Lisa stock!
Went to Daiso quickly to buy stuff
After we finished setting up, we decided to go to dinner. We went to Fisherman's Wharf which is apparently a famous place in San Francisco.
Me with Aino-san and Hiroko-san!
We chose to go to a small cozy restaurant. I forgot the name though T_T If anyone recognizes this place please let me know!
It was actually Aino-san's birthday!
I'm not a fan of seafood but this place was really good!
That's all for today, I'll try blog a lot more when I have more time. Planning to go to Japan early next year again so I need to try get through all these Japan posts and vlogs fast!
