Interview with Model Press Japan at Youtube Space Tokyo!
Hi everyone! When I went to Japan, I had the chance to go to the Japan Youtube Space studio where I attended a Press Event! I did a few interviews with various Japanese websites, and one of the big ones I did was an interview with Model Press!
I was super sick that day but luckily all the Japanese press were super patient with me (in between my coughing fits).
At the Youtube Space, Tokyo

Thank-you so much to Model Press for featuring me! I had a lot of fun during the interview!
The interview is all in Japanese, so I did a quick translation of the interview part for you guys to have a read!
(sorry for my dodgy translations, just got back from work so I'm kinda half asleep! haha)
Model Press: We saw your youtube. It's really easy to understand and were drawn to your cute videos.
Kim: Thank-you. I make content that aim towards girls from their teens to their twnenties who are from the same generation as me. I do makeup videos often, also fashion. Japanese
Model Press: How do you make your videos?
Kim: I make my videos by myself from shooting to editing. I blog so using that (same) camera I use to film videos. I don't really prepare (before filming) but the time from sitting in front of the camera until finish editing is about 6 hours a video.
Model Press: It seems tough to make videos by yourself. But how do you get information about the Japanese trends?
Kim: I check on the internet. I go to the websites of the brands that I like, and from there I find out (what the trends are). Japanese people are really conscious about their fashion. Also the fashion is unique and there are a lot of cute things.
Model Press: It looks like you put a lot of effort into Youtube. Please tell us your favourite thing about Japan
Kim: Culture, food, fashion... I love it all! Japanese people are all very kind! If I had to choose one, then it would be fashion.
Model Press: Your fashion today is wonderful! What kind of style do you like?
Kim: Because I shop a lot in Shibuya, Shibuya style.
Model Press: When you started to become a youtuber, why did you decide to upload videos on Youtube?
Kim: About 3 years ago I started. I first started a blog where I wrote things I wanted to remember. My readers then asked me to make videos, and I got a lot of requests so I decided to make videos.
Model Press: What kind of videos do you want to make in the future?
Kim: From now I would like to make more makeup and fashion videos. I also want to show the wonderful places I have been to in Japan.
Model Press: I'm happy that you love Japan. Your Japanese is good
Kim: Thank-you. I was born in Australia, and I went to university in Australia where I studied Japanese for 3 years. Since then time has passed so I forgotten a little (Japanese) *laughs*
Model Press: How many times have you been to Japan?
Kim: This is my 6th time. Back then I never thought that I would go to Japan every year so it's amazing.
Kim talks about the secret to beautiful skin, love and private life
Model Press: I'm jealous that your skin is clear. Please tell us the secret to beautiful skin
Kim: I make sure to throughly wash my face daily. I also recommend not using too much makeup or skin care products
Model Press: Are there a lot of boys who fall in love with your skin? Please tell us what type of man you like.
Kim: My type of man is someone who is honest and intelligent. This time, I came to Japan with my boyfriend (who is also Australian born). Because we share everything with eachother, we don't fight. I think couples fight a lot because they don't talk properly to eachother. That's why I think communication is the most important thing (in a relationship).
Model Press: Active Youtuber Kim Dao, please tell us what you would like to try in the future.
Kim: Because I couldn't really update my blog as much last year, my goal this year is to blog more. My biggest goal is to be a Youtuber and blogger, so I will try my best! I want to come back to Japan one more time this year.
Model Press: Please tell the Model Press readers the secret towards achieving your dream
Kim: When I first started Youtube, no-one watched my videos so I wanted to give up. But I tried really hard to continue, and gradually my videos became more popular. If I gave up at that time I wouldn't be in this current situation, I think you just have to keep on continuing and believing. The most important thing is to believe in yourself and try your hardest to continue. Please do your best!
Model Press: Thank-you
